Investiture of District Judge, *[Senior Civil Judge] or *[Junior Civil Judge] with small causes jurisdiction - (1) The High Court may, by notification, invest, within such local limits as it shall, from time to time fix,- (i) any District Judge or *[Senior Civil Judge], with the jurisdiction of a Judge of a Court of Small Causes for the trials of suits cognizable by such Courts up to the amount of 5[ten thousand rupees]; (ii) any *[Junior Civil Judge], with like jurisdiction up to the amount of 6[four thousand rupees]. (2) The High Court may, likewise, withdraw the jurisdiction from the District Judge, *[Senior Civil Judge] or *[Junior Civil Judge] so invested.
