When any local area is under record operations the survey officer shall frame, for each village therein, the records specified in Chapter VIII of such of them as the Chief Commissioner may direct, and the record or portion thereof so framed shall thereafter be maintained by the Deputy Commissioner, instead of the record of portion of the record previously maintained.
